Chapter 1
Hazel Talks To Her Future Step-Father

One day Josephine Melody and her 24 year old daughter Hazel Melody are at home. Hazel noticed that her mom was looking upset.
“Mom what’s wrong?” Hazel asked.
“Well, Baby Girl your father and I just got a divorce yesterday.” Josephine answered.
“Why?” Hazel asked.
“Well, I caught him cheating on me with another woman and I told him that we’re through.” Josephine answered.
“That is just like dad.” Hazel replied.
“I agree with you on that Baby Girl.” Josephine said.
“Mom can I go to the mall?” Hazel said.
“Sure, Hazel you can go. I’ll just stay here because I’m in no mood to go anywhere today.” Josephine said.
“I understand mom and thank you. Bye, mom. I love you.” Hazel said.
“Bye, Baby Girl. I love you, too.” Josephine said.
Hazel grabbed her purse and was jogging to the mall because they live a block away from the mall. Fifteen minutes later Hazel arrived at the mall. As Hazel was walking around the mall she accidentally bumped into a couple of guys.
“Oh, I’m sorry, I didn’t see you there.” Hazel said.
“No, I’m sorry, I wasn’t watching where I was going.” One of the guys said.
When Hazel looked at the guy that she bumped into she fell in love with him but was too afraid to tell him.
“What’s your name?” The guy asked.
“Hazel Melody.” Hazel answered.
“Hazel is that really you?” The other asked.
When she saw the other guy she had feeling that she knows him.
“JR Musika is that you?” Hazel asked.
“Yes it is. How is your mother?” JR told Hazel.
“Well she’s a little upset right now.” Hazel replied.
“Why is that?” JR asked.
“Well my dad cheated on her yesterday and she told him that they’re through and they got a divorced.” Hazel answered.
When Hazel said that a smile grew on JR’s face.
“Why are you smiling JR?” Hazel asked.
“Hazel you know about my secret crush on your mother, right?” JR asked.
“That’s right, I almost forgot.” Hazel answered.
“Hopefully I can have a chance with her now.” JR said.
“JR, I think that you should give her some more time because she just got a divorce and she needs time to get over it first.” Hazel said.
“I completely understand.” JR said.
“By the way JR who is your friend?” Hazel asked.
“This is my best friend, Coda Reed.” JR answered.
“Nice to meet you Coda.” Hazel said.
“Nice to meet you, too, Hazel.” Coda said.
“He is so gorgeous.” Hazel thought to herself.
“She is so beautiful.” Coda thought to himself.
Well two hours later Hazel went back home after saying good-bye to JR and Coda. When she went inside she noticed that her dad was there.
“Dad, what are you doing here?” Hazel asked.
“I’m here to return some of your mother’s stuff.” Hazel’s dad answered.
“Oh I thought that you came back to make up with mom.” Hazel replied.
“No I haven’t.” Hazel’s dad said.
So Hazel’s dad gave back everything he had of Josephine’s and Josephine gave back everything al her ex-husband’s stuff. After that Hazel’s dad left, Hazel and her mom never saw him after that.
“So, Baby Girl what did you do at the mall?” Josephine asked.
“Oh just nothing really, but I did run into JR.” Hazel answered.
“Really, did he ask about me?” Josephine asked.
“Yes he did.” Hazel answered.
“Did you tell me about your father and I?” Josephine asked.
“Yes I did, mom.” Hazel answered.
“And what did he do or say?” Josephine asked.
“He didn’t say anything he only smiled and I don’t know why he did.” Hazel answered.
“What’s he alone when you saw him today?” Josephine asked.
“Actually no he wasn’t he had his best Coda Reed with him.” Hazel answered.
“What did you think of Coda when you saw him?” Josephine asked.
“I thought that he was the most gorgeous guy I have ever seen in my whole entire life and I think that he’s Scottish because he has the Scottish accent.” Hazel answered.
“It sounds like you’re in love with him.” Josephine replied.
“Is it that obvious, mom?” Hazel asked.
“Yes it is, Baby Girl.” Josephine answered.
Later that night Josephine went to bed dreaming about JR. Hazel went to bed dreaming about Coda. JR went to bed dreaming about making Josephine his girl and Coda went to bed dreaming about Hazel.

Chapter 2
Hazel Tells Coda The Truth

It’s been a month since Hazel met Coda. She still hasn’t told him that she’s in love with him. She’s still too afraid to tell him but she gets up enough courage to tell him. Hazel told her mom that she is going to the park.
“Mom I’m going to the park for awhile.” Hazel said.
“Are you finally going to tell Coda that you’re in love with him?” Josephine asked.
“Yes I am. I’m still afraid to tell him, but I’ve kept it a secret from him for a month and I can’t keep it hidden from him any longer.” Hazel answered.
“That’s my girl.” Josephine replied.
“Bye, mom. I love you.” Hazel said as she gave her mom a hug.
“Bye, Baby Girl. I love you, too.” Josephine said as she hugged her daughter back.
A half hour later Hazel was in the park. She was walking around when suddenly she stops dead in her tracks when she saw Coda Reed sitting on a bench by himself.
“He is all alone. I should go over there and tell him how I feel about him, but if I tell him and he doesn’t the feel the same way I’ll feel like a fool. No, I shouldn’t go over there, but then again I should go over there, but I don’t want to go. Well he is gorgeous and I love his Scottish accent. This time I’m really going to go over there and tell him how I feel.” Hazel said to herself.
Hazel took a deep breath and walked over to where Coda was sitting and sat down next to him. Hazel cleared her throat. Coda looked up and noticed Hazel sitting next to him.
“Hazel what are you doing here?” Coda asked.
“I have something that I have to tell you.” Hazel answered.
“What’s that Hazel?” Coda asked.
“Well for the past month I have been (gulped) in love with you.” Hazel answered.
“You’re in love with me?” Coda asked.
“Yes I am.” Hazel answered.
“Since when?” Coda asked.
“Since the first day we met at the mall.” Hazel answered.
“That’s great to hear because I’m in love with you too.” Coda replied.
“You are?” Hazel asked.
“Yes I am.” Coda answered.
“How long have you been in love with me?” Hazel asked.
“Like you said since the first day we met at the mall.” Coda answered.
“Coda I was wondering if you would like to sing a song with me?” Hazel asked.
“I would love to.” Coda answered.
“That’s great.” Hazel replied.
“What song are we going to sing?” Coda asked.
“It’s called “From This Moment On” by Shania Twain with guest vocal Bryan White.” Hazel answered.
“I love that song. It’s a great song.” Coda replied.
Now Hazel and Coda are singing “From This Moment On.”
Hazel (speaking): I do swear that I’ll always be there. I’d give anything and everything and I will always care. Through weakness and strength, happiness and sorrow, for better, for worse, I will love you with every beat of my heart.

Soon after they sang that song Coda pulled Hazel close and kissed her passionately. They kissing for what seems like an hour. When they broke the kiss they sat back down on the bench and cuddled with each other.
“That was an amazing kiss. You are a great kisser.” Hazel said.
“Thanks, so are you.” Coda said.
Just then Hazel started to think about her mom and she got a sad look on her face. Coda noticed the sad look on her face.
“What’s with the sad face?” Coda asked.
“It’s my mom.” Hazel answered.
“What about your mom?” Coda asked.
“I’m just worried that she might not find love again after what happened between her and my father. She was pretty upset about what happened.” Hazel answered.
“Are you sure about that?” Coda asked.
“Yes I am and she told me that she still isn’t ready for another relationship just yet.” Hazel answered.
“Well maybe that’s because she hasn’t found her soulmate yet.” Coda replied.
“Her soulmate?” Hazel asked.
“Yeah her soulmate the one that she is meant to be with. He is out there somewhere.” Coda answered.
“You’re right he is and I know exactly who her soulmate is.” Hazel replied.
“Who?” Coda asked.
“JR.” Hazel answered.
“JR, as in my best friend JR Musika?” Coda asked.
“Yes that is exactly who I mean.” Hazel answered.
“How do you know that?” Coda asked.
“Well JR has been a friend of my family for years and I know that he has always had a secret crush on my mom, but he knew that he couldn’t do anything because of my dad.” Hazel answered.
Later that night Josephine is sitting on her bed in her room crying when Hazel walks by and looks in and notices her mom crying.
“Mom, what’s wrong? Why are you crying?” Hazel asked as she sat next to her mom on her bed.
Josephine didn’t say anything to Hazel.
“Come on mom please tell me? I want to help you. I don’t like seeing you like this.” Hazel told her mom.
“Oh, Baby Girl, I wanted to call JR and tell him that I love him but I couldn’t and I don’t think that he feels the same way about me and everytime he’s around me he gets all shy and never says anything to me at all. Josephine told Hazel through her tears.
“You’ll be surprised.” Hazel said under her breath.
“What did you say?” Josephine asked.
“Nothing.” Hazel answered.
“Is there anything wrong with me? Am I not pretty enough for JR?” Josephine asked through her tears.
“Mom there’s nothing wrong with you and mom you are the most beautiful person that I have ever seen and I’m sure that JR will agree with me on that.” Hazel answered as she wiped the tears away from her mother’s face.
“How can you be sure that he’ll agree with you on that?” Josephine asked.
“You’ll see, mom, you’ll see.” Hazel answered.
A few minutes later Hazel say good-night to her mom and gave her a good-night kiss and went to her room. Hazel fell asleep dreaming about Coda and she was also dreaming about her mom and JR getting together. Josephine fell asleep dreaming about her future with JR. Coda fell asleep dreaming about Hazel and JR fell asleep dreaming about his future with Josephine and being Hazel’s step-father because he really likes Hazel and he knows that she really likes him.
