Chapter 1
The Tale of the Haunted House Part 1

It’s Halloween night and the Midnight Society gathered around the campfire in their secret meeting place in the woods. Tucker who is the younger brother to the former President of The Midnight Society Gary has a special story to tell The Midnight Society.
TUCKER: Guys, tonight is a special night.
MEGAN: What do you mean by that?
TUCKER: Well you know it’s Halloween tonight, right?
GROUP: Yeah.
ANDY: And...?
TUCKER: Well I have a special story to tell you.
VANGE: What’s so special about this story?
TUCKER: Well, we usually tell made-up stories here but the story that I’m going to tell tonight is real because it happened 2 years ago with my older brother, Gary, his girlfriend Gina, her brothers and sisters, her best friend Faith, her best friend’s brothers and sisters and also Faith’s boyfriend Frank who was a friend of my older brother, Gary.
QUINN: Well what happened 2 years ago?
TUCKER: It was two days before Halloween and some of their friends from school dared them to enter this Haunted House on Halloween night.
ANDY: Did they enter the Haunted House?
TUCKER: Let me tell you the story about that.
So Tucker takes out a leather pouch.
TUCKER (as he reaches in and grabs a handful of some plain sugar from the leather pouch): Submitted for the approval of the Midnight Society, I call this story... (He then tosses out some plain sugar from the leather pouch into the campfire to heighten the flames and produce an eerie white smoke) The Tale of the Haunted House. Two years and two days ago my older brother, Gary and his girlfriend Gina where hanging out with Gina’s brothers and sisters and Gina’s best friend, Faith, her best friend’s brothers and sister and her best friend’s boyfriend Frank who is a friend of my brother and also he was a member of the Midnight Society that’s how he knew my brother, Gary. They were all hanging out at the playground because Gina and Faith have brothers and sisters who are in elementary school. Just then some of their friends from school walked over to them.
GRETCHEN: So Gina, Gary, Faith and Frank, what are you guys doing for Halloween this year?
GINA: Gary and I are taking my brothers and sisters out trick-or-treating on Halloween night.
FAITH: Frank and I are going with them with my brothers and sisters.
GARY: Why are you asking about what we are going to do on Halloween, Gretchen?
GRETCHEN: Well I was wondering if you are going to go see the Haunted House over on Haunted Hill.
GARY: We weren’t planning on going there at all.
GITA: Well, my sister Gretchen and I dare you guys to go to the Haunted House on Haunted Hill on Halloween night.
GINA: No, I don’t think so. My mom won’t let us go near there with my 4 year old brother.
GARY: She’s right about that we can’t take a 4 year old to a haunted house.
TUCKER: A few hours later they are at home talking about what Gretchen and Gita were talking about.
GARY: Guys you are seriously not thinking about going to that Haunted House on Halloween are you?
TROY: I think that it will be cool to go to a Haunted House on Halloween night.
GINA: Troy, mom won’t allow it.
TROY: How do you know?
GINA: I just know that’s all.
Just then their mom Terri walked into the room.
TERRI: What are you guys talking about?
GINA: Mom, some friends of ours from school dared us to go to some Haunted House over on Haunted Hill on Halloween night.
TERRI: I won’t let you guys go.
GINA: I knew you were going to say that mom, but Troy and a few others here want to go.
TERRI: I’m not letting you guys go to that Haunted House because you have to take your younger siblings out trick-or-treating.
TROY: We know but most of us love Haunted Houses.
TERRI: If you go there if your 4 year old brother you will be grounded.
TROY: Don’t worry mom I won’t take Robert to the Haunted House I promise.
TUCKER: The next two days past and it was now Halloween, Gina was in her room lying on her bed when Gary walked into her room.
GARY: Hi, angel.
GINA: Hi, baby.
GARY: What were you thinking about when I walked in?
GINA: I was thinking about the Haunted House.
GARY: Your mom told you not to go there.
GINA: Yes, Gary I know but if we go she won’t know because I was thinking that after we take my younger brothers and sisters trick-or-treating we can bring them back here and then you, me, Faith and Frank and maybe Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, Ryan, Taylor, Martha, Kelsi, Chad, Zeke and Jason maybe some of Faith’s brothers and sisters will go to the Haunted House with us.
GARY: What are you going to tell your mom when we go out again?
GINA: I will tell her that we are going to the Halloween Dance at school tonight.
GARY: Do you think that she’ll fall for that?
GINA: Of course she will, trust me.
Just then Gary pulled her close and kissed her passionately. A few minutes later he broke the kiss.
TUCKER: A few hours later Gina, Gary, Faith and Frank went out trick-or-treating with Gina’s brothers and sisters and Faith’s brothers and sisters. So they were all trick-or-treating and they got a lot of candy and after a few hours of trick-or-treating they went back home and dropped off Bindi and Robert who are too young for the Haunted House on Haunted Hill.
GINA: Mom we’re going back out again.
TERRI: Where are you guys going?
GINA: There is a Halloween Dance at our school tonight and that’s where we are going.
TERRI: Oh ok, have fun guys.
GINA: Thanks mom.
TUCKER: So they all left Gina’s house and they went to the Halloween Dance at their school for an hour or two. Two hours later they left the Halloween Dance and went to Haunted Hill where the Haunted House was and when they got there some of them where getting really scared.
FIONA: Guys I’m not sure about this it looks really scary.
FAYE: Fiona’s right I don’t think we should do this.
FERRIS: Come on you two don't be such scary-cats.
FRANCO: Ferris, don’t be so rude. I agree with them it is scary.
FRITZ: I don’t want to go in there.
FELIX: Neither do I.
FLYNN: I’m not scared. I want to go in.
FINN: I’m not scared either.
FALLON: Neither am I. I love haunted houses.
FARRAH: I also love haunted houses.
FERNE: I don’t like haunted houses because you never know what might happen.
FLORA: I agree with you on that Ferne.
FRED: I also agree with Ferne on that.
CHAD: Guys come on we’re all in this together.
GINA: You know I agree with my brother Chad on that.
TUCKER: So a few minutes later they all entered the haunted house.
